Assignment #2- Numbers
I learned a lot from this assignment. I think the most important things I learned were how to control aperture, shutter speed, white balance, and manual focus with my camera. It also got me really thinking and trying to be creative while still accomplishing the task in the allotted time. Something that I really needed was learning to not stress when I took a terrible picture (maybe because the focus was off, or I moved the camera while the shutter was open, or I forgot to balance the white) and just moving on. During the first 15, I did not have very many that I liked, and I got really frustrated. I had to put my camera down for a while and let myself cool because I was so irritated. When I started taking pictures again, I made myself get over the bad pictures and just move on to the next one and learn from my mistakes as I moved on. Some pictures were really disappointing because I wanted them to turn out cool, but, for various reasons, they didn't. For example, my 88th picture was supposed to be awesome. I used my piano. However, the lighting in my apartment is absolutely terrible, and I just could not get a good image as I was fiddling around before I actually took the picture. The actual picture did not turn out well. I wasn't as disappointed as I might have been had it been one of my first pictures because by the time I got to eighty-eight, I had already learned that I could move on and everything would be okay.
I really enjoyed this assignment because it taught me a lot about myself, controlling my camera, and managing my time and the task at hand.
